Our Privacy Commitment in Plain English
BioSpan is built with an on-device, privacy-first architecture. Your biometric measurements, biological age calculations, and health history are processed and stored locally on your physical device. We never sell, lease, or monetize your health data.
1. Information We Process
To calculate your biological age and present longevity insights, BioSpan processes the following data types provided by you or your connected wearables:
- Biometric Vitals: Chronological age, resting heart rate, blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, sleep duration, and physical activity levels.
- Wearable Sensor Metrics: If explicitly granted via Apple HealthKit (iOS) or Health Connect (Android), read-only metrics such as VO2 Max, Heart Rate Variability (HRV), and step counts.
- App Preferences: UI theme (light/dark) and notification schedule preferences.
2. On-Device Storage & Local Isolation
All sensitive health vitals and computational age models reside in your phone's encrypted sandboxed storage. We do not transmit your vitals to external cloud databases, and we do not use your health records to train machine learning models.
Device Backup Isolation: Android Auto-Backup is explicitly disabled for BioSpan to prevent raw biometric metrics from transferring into unencrypted desktop computer backups.
3. Wearable Integration (HealthKit & Health Connect)
When you authorize BioSpan to read data from Apple Health or Google Health Connect:
- BioSpan requests read-only access for cardiovascular, sleep, and physical activity vitals.
- BioSpan never writes altered data back to your primary health records.
- You can inspect or revoke these permissions at any time in your phone's system Settings.
4. Third-Party Services & Analytics
We do not use advertising SDKs or third-party behavioral trackers. Our third-party integrations are strictly operational:
- RevenueCat: Validates in-app purchases and subscription receipts with Apple App Store and Google Play. RevenueCat receives anonymous store receipts and does not receive your health or biometric profile.
- Cloudflare: Distributes static legal policies and curated longevity partnership offers. No health metrics are sent with feed requests.
5. Your Rights & Data Deletion
You retain 100% ownership and control over your health profile:
- Instant Local Purge: You can permanently wipe all biometric records and history at any time from within the app under Settings > Data & Privacy > Clear All Data.
- App Uninstallation: Deleting BioSpan from your device instantly destroys all local preferences and cached data.
